Remember me? I’m the guy who created WVSWA.org, the official website of the West Virginia Sports Writers Association. I also designed the organization’s official logo:

A few months ago, I stepped away, handed the website to the WVSWA executive director and became Rich Beyond Measure (RBM), which defines the best things in life not measured by money — wife, children, grandchildren, and dogs. Like my family, West Virginia, its high school athletics, and their fans hold a special place for me.

I am dialed in to the Mountain State prep sports scene, having covered it statewide since 1990 as a beat writer in Wheeling (The Intelligencer) and Charleston (Daily Mail).

I served on All-State boards for every major sport, and was steadfast in honoring the most deserved candidates while maintaining the integrity and scope of the state’s most respected and historic postseason honors.

I was an assistant boys basketball coach with Valley under Joe McCoy, traveling the backroads of Fayette County for three seasons, including 2017 when we reached the state tournament.

The Dallas Cowboys are my lone rooting interest. I know it’s sad. Otherwise, indifference dominates my perspective, which is a lonely existence for a true journalist. In case you’re wondering, there is a difference between sportswriter and journalist.
